§ 30.02. Appointive committees.

  • (a)

    Every committee appointed by the city council shall be reviewed by the council during the month of November of each year to determine its necessity to the best interest of the city and its citizenry; except those committees which are created as a result of state statute and the appointment of its membership is for terms as provided by statute.

    (b)

    A committee found to be surplus as to the best interest of the city shall be terminated or modified to restore its usefulness.

    (c)

    If a committee is recognized by the council as being in the best interest of the city, the membership of the committee shall be reviewed during the month of november of each year to ensure that only qualified individuals who maintain a reasonable attendance at the meetings of the committee are reappointed to the committee. Any member of the committee found to be lacking in interest in the community or failing to reasonably attend the committee's meetings, upon the expiration of his term, shall not be reappointed.
