§ 90.01. Abandonment prohibited; exception.

  • (a)

    It is declared unlawful for any person to park, store, or leave unattended any motor vehicle on public property, including road rights-of-way, located within the incorporated area of the city, for a period of time in excess of 36 hours. Upon notification from the city, the vehicle shall be removed within 36 hours or is subject to being towed, provided, however, that vehicles parked on city property that has been posted "No Trespassing" are subject to immediate removal without further notice. This section shall not apply to any vehicle owned or leased by the city, the state, or a contractor or subcontractor under agreement with the city or county to accomplish a municipal purpose.

    (b)

    Further, any vehicle without a current license plate or a current registration issued by the state shall be considered to be an unused or abandoned vehicle and upon notification from the city the vehicle shall be removed within 72 hours.
