§ 64.06. Specifications of private systems; discharges prohibited; sanitary operation.

  • The type, capacities, location and layout of a private sewage disposal system shall comply with all state and city regulations. No septic tank or cesspool shall be permitted to discharge to any storm drainage facility, open drain, ditch, stream, well penetrating water bearing formations, or natural outlet. When private ownership of a sewage disposal system is retained by the applicant, the facilities shall be operated and maintained in a sanitary manner at all times, as determined by the St. Lucie County Health Dept. or FDEP, at no expense to the city.
