§ 72.04. Vehicles left unattended prohibited.

(a)

No person shall leave a motor vehicle unattended with the ignition key in the vehicle. Enforcement personnel finding such a motor vehicle are authorized to remove the key from the vehicle and to post a notice in the vehicle stating where the key may be recovered.

(b)

The registered owner of a vehicle found in violation of this section shall be held prima facie responsible for that violation.
